LOÏS
Loïs was our first Arabian and the foundation of Kenelm Arabians. She has a diminutive short-dished head with a very large forehead and dreamy black eyes. Her appearance is similar to the early Davenport imports from America. Loïs is very sweet and loves attention, she is a pleasure to work with and well trained under saddle in western pleasure, hunter and endurance. She is perfect for long trail rides, too.
Lois is indeed a special mare, capturing the stunning good looks and graceful spirit of a true Arabian.
Coming from a long bloodline of beautiful and versatile champions, Loïs is the only daughter of the Russian–Polish stallion Fiodor, who was well-ridden in western pleasure and shown in halter.
Fiodor was one of the son’s of the legendary stallion, Vatican. Vatican was born in Tersk, Russia in 1983 and raced several years with the following results 4/31 (9-6-9) with his best performance at the Prize of Europe in Warsaw, Poland. In addition to Fiodor, Vatican has sired a bevy of show champions such as Mirok Monpelou, a European Champion Stallion leased to the United States, Mirkova, a European Champion filly, and Pash Vacan, a worldwide winner of numerous championships.
Vatican is by Kumir, who sired other international champions like Pesennik, currently in Brazil, and Nikel, an outstanding race horse and sire of several champions himself. Nevesta, Vatican’s dam, was sold for $75,000 at age 19, and Naum, a Nevesta daughter, was sold to the UAE for $200,000 at the Tersk Sale.
Fiodor’s dam line is quite impressive. His dam, the lovely Arnia, was the daughter of Arbor, a French and European National Champion stallion. Arbor was out of the famous Polish broodmare Arba by Comet, who produced exquisite performers such as Argo, a Polish National Champion Stallion, Arbil, who was leased by Lasma Arabians for four breeding seasons, and Arra, a Triple Crown race horse who won the Derby, the Oaks and the Criterium in 1979. Arra was also a European Champion Mare and Polish National Champion mare in 1986 and dam of Ararat, a sire of Champions. Armanda, one of Arba’s daughters, sold for $400,000 at the Scottsdale Sale.
Lois’s sire line not only traces to Comet through Arba but also to Pohaniec, a Swedish National Champion and European Reserve Champion Stallion in 1976. Pohaniec is well-known as the sire of Pomar, Forex, who was a World Champion Stallion, and last but not least, Probat.
Loïs takes after her dam, Medersa El Masan, for her elegant refinement and femininity. Medersa El Masan was an exotic product of the Sultana Family breeding program in France, and the result of crossing two great stallions - the straight Egyptian Masan by Habdan Enzahi and the Egyptian-related Maklouf.
Medersa was sired by Masan, who was considered the best sire of his generation in France, and whoproduced show-winning offspring possessing outstanding endurance. Masan’s sire, Habdan Enzahi, is one of the most influential of Nazeer's European sons. Along with Kaisoon and Aswan, he produced several legendary sons and daughters in Germany on the Marbach Stud and gave Germany some of its most outstanding Egyptian Arabians, earning him a sensational worldwide reputation.

Medersa's dam, the breathtaking Magrebia Arabia, was the full sister of Maklouf, a two-time World Champion Stallion and sire of Targuia El Maklouf, who was a two-time World Champion Mare. Maklouf was sire to a number of international champions, as well as a number of endurance and race winners. Magrebia Arabia's dam, Mabrouka, is Masan’s full sister, produced intense linebreeding and served as the source of a great number of champions.
Magrebia is the dam of Kebir El Mektoub’s, an International Champion and National Champion Colt of France.

Loïs has all the qualities necessary to be an outstanding broodmare. Her pedigree is a rich blend of multiple international champions and champion producers . To date, her offspring have all been all sold, except one that we are keeping with us. She is truly a one-of-a kind mare.
